Wednesday Nights at FBC (2).png

Welcome

New to First Baptist?

Dear newcomers,

We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our church family! Here at FBC there are plenty of ways to get involved. We encourage you to join us for worship on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.  Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. Youth Group for grades 6-12, Children's Ministry ages 4-11, nursery available for ages birth to 3 years during both Bible study and worship time.

On the fourth Sunday of the month, children ages 4-11 stay in worship for "Parenting in the Pew", based on the book, Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship.

During the Summer months, we meet one Wed. evening a month for a Vespers Service at one of several beautiful outdoor locations. Our First Kids and Youth have a break from Sunday evening meetings for the summer and resume once school is back in session.

On fifth Sundays we have a Church-wide fellowship with either a breakfast or coffee and donuts, in place of Bible Study in our Wayland Fellowship Hall. Please join us!

We would love for you to fill out a visitor card located in the back of pew in front of you, and bring it to the Sanctuary entrance at the end of service and receive a gift which includes information about upcoming events.

Blessings,

Here at First Baptist, our Children's Ministry is "First Kids!" The children attend Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, and during worship, Ms. Jamie has a Children's Message, then the kids are dismissed to Children's Church. On the 4th Sunday of the month, children remain in the Sanctuary for "Parenting in the Pew", you can learn more about this program by reading the book "Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship", by Robbie Castleman. First Kids have a break from Sun. evening meetings for the summer, and will resume when school starts back in the fall.

OUR NEXT SERIES "FIRED UP":  Fire up the ovens! We're headed to the kitchen to bake up something special. Kitchens are incredible places where the most basic ingredients are transformed into delicious treats. Our faith can be a lot like that, too! In this 5-week series, kids will follow the life of the prophet Elijah, whose ministry involved a lot of fire and bread as he formed a special relationship with God. They'll learn how knowing God helps me find what I need, hears my voice, guides me when I'm scared, comforts me, and is always with me are all the ingredients they need to get fired up!

Camp dates have been set for June, July, and August!

Camps will be one week each month, M/W/F from 9am to noon.

The cost for each camp is $20, which will include a T-Shirt and all activities!

June Dates: Our first Kids Camp event will be June 23, 25, and 27th from 9am-Noon and the theme will be SPORTS! There are 20 spots available, so call the church office to sign up as soon as possible, $20 will be due upon sign up, so that we can get your T-shirt.

July Dates: July 21, 23, 25 9am-Noon, ARTS AND CRAFTS CAMP

August Dates: Aug. 11, 13, 15 9am-Noon COOKING AND GAMES CAMP

If you have a heart for children and would like to serve in our Nursery Ministry, sign up below, new volunteers will be sent a secure link for a background check. You will then be able to sign up for the Sunday School hour, or during worship time, to serve along side our Nursery worker, Rachel.  Our children are blessed to have such wonderful volunteers here at First Baptist!

First Baptist Youth

Reverend Patricia Turner
Associate Pastor

Dear Church Family,

Thank you so much for your continued encouragement, prayers, and support of our youth—especially during Youth/Graduate Sunday. Your presence in their lives means more than you know. You are a vital part of their spiritual journey, and we are deeply grateful.

Summer is here! Fast Food Fridays will continue at the new time: 12:30–2:30 p.m. Fast Food Fridays are open to our church family and you are warmly invited to join us anytime.

We’re also planning summer activities including Vespers, helping with Children’s Camps, and three special events—details to come via email and Band. Parents and youth, please watch for updates and reply promptly so we can enjoy a smooth, fun-filled summer together!

For one event, we’re in need of tubes for lake or towed tubing. If you can lend equipment or are experienced and can assist, please reach out to Patricia.

PASSPORTMissions is July 14–18 at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA. We’ll commission the team on Sunday, July 13, and the youth will share their experiences in a PASSPORT-themed worship service on July 27. Please make plans to join us!

Mail was such a blessing last year. If you’d like to encourage our group, please send letters by July 7 to:
