Wednesday Nights at FBC (2).png

New to First Baptist?

Dear newcomers,

We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our church family! Here at FBC there are plenty of ways to get involved. We encourage you to join us for worship on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.  Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. Youth Group for grades 6-12, Children's Ministry ages 4-11, nursery available for ages birth to 3 years during both Bible study and worship time.

On the fourth Sunday of the month, children ages 4-11 stay in worship for "Parenting in the Pew", based on the book, Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship.

On fifth Sundays we have a Church-wide fellowship with either a breakfast or coffee and donuts, in place of Bible Study in our Wayland Fellowship Hall. Please join us!

We would love for you to fill out a visitor card located in the back of pew in front of you, and bring it to the Sanctuary entrance at the end of service and receive a gift which includes information about upcoming events.

Blessings,

Here at First Baptist, our Children's Ministry is "First Kids!" The children attend Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, and during worship, Ms. Jamie has a Children's Message, then the kids are dismissed to Children's Church. On the 4th Sunday of the month, children remain in the Sanctuary for "Parenting in the Pew", you can learn more about this program by reading the book "Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship", by Robbie Castleman. First Kids meet on Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pick up and Drop off is at the Portico entrance.

Other dates are March 15 - Blessing Bags, April 12 - Baskets for and delivery to our Community Helpers, and May 17 - Party at Ebenezer Children's Home.  Contact Jamie or Patricia if you have any questions.

Jesus was a true trailblazer—not just for his time, but for all time! Jesus' teachings and way of life often went against the grain of what people expected, showing us a whole new way to live and love. While blazing new trails, Jesus never wavered from the path of following God, and he paved the way for us to follow his lead. In this 4-week series, kids will learn to trust Jesus even when it’s not easy, show others the way to God, let God’s love take the lead, and pray the way Jesus prayed.

February is here. February 8 is a big day for many with the Superbowl game.  Our youth will celebrate with a party at 5:30 p.m at the Youngs house.  Youth and Parents/Families are asked to bring an appetizer or a dessert and a 2 liter drink.  Before we fellowship and socialize together over a game, our youth will be collecting money after worship for our SOUPER Bowl of Caring Sunday.  This mission's money will help feed those in our community who do not have food daily and get to celebrate as we are privileged to do.  As the youth stand at the doors after worship or when you attend lunch please support the St. Paul's Crisis Ministry meals so others receive a good meal.

Also beginning in February once a month the youth and children will begin a monthly Intergenerational Mission Project.  See the announcement in the Scope and please join our children and youth as we serve and fellowship together.  Participating in these projects helps youth and children see the importance of serving others but also lets you build meaningful relationships with our youth and children.  February 15 will be the first project from 5:30 -6:30 p.m. in the Wayland Hall.

As always please continue to pray for all our youth daily.  As you see them please ask them about their lives and offer encouragement and support.  They need trusted adults in their lives who they can always talk to and ask for support and prayers.

Blessings,

Patricia
