Here at First Baptist, our Children's Ministry is "First Kids!" The children attend Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, and during worship, Ms. Jamie has a Children's Message, then the kids are dismissed to Children's Church. On the 4th Sunday of the month, children remain in the Sanctuary for "Parenting in the Pew", you can learn more about this program by reading the book "Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship," by Robbie Castleman.

Each season—fall, winter, spring, and summer—brings something unique and wonderful. From leaves changing colors to flowers blooming or animals hibernating, the changing seasons remind us that no matter what, God is with us through it all. In this 4-week series, kids will discover how we can respond to God in every season of life. They’ll learn that God’s words are always in season, God leads us in every season, God hears us no matter the season, and we can thank God for every season. BIG IDEAS & BIBLE STORIES God’s words are always in season. (Delight in God's Ways: Psalm 1; Mark 13:28–31) God leads us in every season. (The Lord Is My Shepherd: Psalm 23; Luke 15:1–7) God hears us no matter the season. (Create in Me a Pure Heart: Psalm 51; 1 Timothy 2:1–7) We can thank God for every season. (Give Thanks: Psalm 100; 1 Timothy 6:6–16)
Autumn at First Baptist
The busy yet fun season is here! There are many fun activities and mission minded projects that you and your child are invited to participate in. Here are some things to look forward to: Sunday, October 11: First Kids and Youth are heading to Alpha Omega Corn Maze. We are leaving the church at 12:30 (basically right after service). The tickets are covered but children will need money for lunch and snacks. Sunday, October 18: Intergenerational Mission Project - We will be making Fall Treat Bags for the children at Ebenezer from 2-3 pm. Saturday, October 24: Our Children's Ministry will have a booth set up at the Spooktacular Event in Downtown North Wilkesboro from 4-8 pm. Sunday, November 15: We are going to see ELF at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA. This is open to the entire congregation! Please register with Patricia or Katie by October 14th. Tickets are $25. The production begins at 3pm. Since we will be leaving directly after worship, we are asking that you bring a bag lunch. You will need to bring $ for dinner on the way home and any snacks or drinks at Barter.
CANDY and VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We will have a booth at Spooktacular again this year in North Wilkesboro. This means we will need enough candy to give to 5000 children! That's a lot of candy! Also, if you would like to volunteer to give out candy between 4-8 on October 24th, please contact Jamie. We will do one hour segments and I would like to have 2 people in the booth at all times. Brian and Jamie will be responsible for set-up and clean-up.

October started off with a CBFNC Youth Beach Retreat at Caswell. The guys had a great experience of learning and fun. Thank you to Rod and Tammy Watts for chaperoning the trip. I encourage you to read about Joseph and how he stood firm in his faith. Also talk to Camden, James and Aidan about how they were encouraged to stand firm in their faith.
Also Ryan Abrams led us in worship so beautifully in song this past Sunday. Our FBCNW youth are talented in so many ways. Find ways to encourage those talents and support them. Wednesday youth nights are going strong as we are preparing to sing in worship and learning more about the contents of the books of the Bible. Breakfast in the 50's continues. If you ever want to join us please let us know. Everyone is always welcome at the table.
Sunday, October 18 will be another intergenerational mission project from 2-3 p.m. Our mission project will focus on fall treat bags for the children at Ebenezer's Children's Home. This is a WONDERFUL opportunity to show the love of Jesus, while also deepening your connection with your church family. We hope to see you all there!
